Patient & Public Involvement (PPI) in Cancer Research
ABOUT OXFORD CANCER
Oxford Cancer is a group that supports cancer research across Oxford. We work with researchers working at
- the University of Oxford
- Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Oxford Brookes University
- and wherever cancer research takes place.
We provide grants to researchers and students. We also provide administrative services that make their work easier, such as data management, project management and support with involving patients.
We encourage collaboration between researchers from different disciplines, to ensure that scientific discoveries are translated into improvements in patient care as quickly as possible.
OUR COMMITMENT TO PPI
We want to ensure that our researchers, and the studies they design, benefit from the perspectives and experience of people affected by cancer.
We have a panel of people with experience of cancer – as patients, carers and family members - who work in partnership with researchers. We have a growing network of patient groups that represent a wide range of cancers, both locally and nationally. We also make sure that people with experience of cancer are involved in designing our strategies and have a role in the running of our organisation.

Our Panel
Our PPI panel is made up of members of the public who’ve been impacted by cancer.
