As well as their PPI roles with Oxford Cancer, Sue & Patrick are active Cancer Research UK fundraisers. Every year they undertake a challenge to fundraise and raise awareness of the life-saving research funded by CRUK.
They see research as building a bridge to a world where people live longer better lives, free from the fear of cancer, so this year their challenge features running and hiking across iconic bridges to raise money for CRUK research.
As part of this challenge, Sue and Patrick will be undertaking a 2 mile (downhill) fun run on the 1st of September to celebrate the work of Oxford Cancer. They will be running/jogging from the Old Rd Campus Research Building across Magdalen Bridge to the Bridge of Sighs and invite members of the Oxford Cancer Network to join them.
Sue says: 'Everyone can join us, you don’t need to be an olympian to take part! Walkers and wheelchair users welcome. Myself and Patrick have a combined age of 138 so we are not super fast. Hope to see you there!'
