Oxford Cancer and the Kennedy Trust for Rheumatology are pleased to invite you to our joint open day for any medical students interested in pursuing a DPhil in the fields of Cancer Science or Musculoskeletal Disease, Inflammation and Immunology respectively.

 This is only open to medical students intercalating after year 3 or year 4 of the standard entry A100 course, and after year 2 of the graduate entry A101 course.

The event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 31st October in the KIR lecture theatre (Kennedy Institute), 5pm -6pm, on the Old Road Campus with arrival from 4:45pm.

 DPhil in Cancer Science Programme

Oxford Cancer at the University of Oxford awards a total of 13 full-time DPhil positions in Cancer Science to researchers looking to start their academic career at one of the world's leading research organisations. These positions are funded through the Cancer Research UK Oxford Centre.

The programme is unique and distinctive in offering integrated training across the following themes: Immuno-Oncology; Cancer Big Data; Novel Therapeutics; Early Cancer Detection. It builds on Oxford’s outstanding research record in these areas, spanning both the University and Hospital Trust

OxKEN Programme

The Kennedy Trust for Rheumatology Research-funded OxKen programme will fully fund 4 intercalating medical students each year to undertake DPhils in the Medical Sciences Division in the fields of musculoskeletal disease, inflammation and immunology. Our vision is to foster a new generation of clinical academics to drive world-leading research into musculoskeletal and inflammatory disease and improve patient care.
