Research: Development of novel fluorescence imaging techniques to identify and characterize serous tubal intraepithelial carcinomas (STICs)
Nina Wietek studied preclinical medicine at Trinity College, Cambridge before moving on to Imperial College for her clinical years. For her Academic Foundation Programme in Oncology, Nina was based at the South Thames Foundation School. She moved to Oxford to undertake an MRes supervised by Professors Ahmed and Vojnovic and is now a CRUK-funded Clinical Research Training Fellow.
What’s your current research and how could it impact patients?
My DPhil project aims to investigate the early detection and prevention of ovarian cancer using novel fluorescence imaging methods under the supervision of Prof Ahmed Ahmed and Prof Boris Vojnovic (Department of Oncology).
