Optimising cancer detection and diagnosis in primary care

- Challenge: Assessing cancer risk Challenge: Making the most of health data
Using resources such as QResearch (a database of 35 million patient records, spanning 25+ years with primary care records linked to hospital, mortality, treatment and cancer registration data) we are able to optimise the integration of novel diagnostic strategies. Examples of its application in oesophageal cancer include Cytosponge data integration via the DELTA project, in partnership with Cambridge, as well as in pancreatic cancers through ADEPTS in collaboration with UCL. QResearch is being applied to discovering new approaches to cancer early detection, e.g. by integrating immune-related events into pancreatic cancer risk prediction via projects with the PancrImmune Network
