Chair: Professor Mark Middleton & Professor Tim Elliott

Remit: The Governance Board has the responsibility to oversee, develop, adjust, and approve the strategy of the Centre, including its training programmes. It serves as a decision-making forum to capitalise on strategically important opportunities. Additionally, the board discusses and agrees upon recruitment strategies for the Centre. It ensures the delivery of the Centre's strategy and objectives and verifies that the Centre's branding, press, and research engagement activities align with CRUK's expectations. Furthermore, the Governance Board reviews the Centre's performance and its contribution to the CRUK Centres Network, as well as addresses top-level financial opportunities and challenges. It also evaluates key initiatives proposed by CRUK, Research Councils, the NHS, and other organisations funding cancer research, and assesses the Centre's responses to them.
