Congratulations to Yuhan Zheng (Papiez group, Big Data Institute), who won first prize for their poster ' Advancing Esophageal Cancer Management with Machine Learning: Multicentre Survival Prediction Models and Novel Insights’, presented at this year's CRUK Oxford Centre Student Symposium.

The CRUK Oxford Centre Student Symposium affords current DPhil in Cancer Science students at the University an opportunity to come together to network and to learn a little more about each other's projects.

In addition to poster presentations, the half day event saw talks from Simon Davis, Professor of Molecular Immunology, and Cicely Marston, Professor of Public Health; Current DPhil in Cancer Science Students, Ella Mi, Hannah Kelly and Kristen Koopman also presented a three minute thesis about their respective projects.

Members of our alumni community - Tammy Clarke and Declan Pang- spoke about their experiences on the programme, and discussed what they have gone on to do since graduating.

The day concluded with a keynote presentation from Sergio Quezada, Professor of Cancer Immunology & Immunotherapy and CRUK Senior Cancer Research Fellow at the UCL Cancer Institute. Professor Quezada spoke on the mechanisms, challenges and new therapeutic avenues for targeting regulatory T cells in Cancer.
