  • Challenge: Applying computer vision to medical imaging

Cellular pathology stands on the brink of a step-change in our understanding of tumour evolution. Oxford researchers are leading in the extraction of biologically and clinically relevant information from morphology in colorectal, prostate and blood cancers. This project is investigating the progression to lethal cancer by building on Oxford's discovery of unrecognised features of poor prognosis disease, to combine molecular and morphological assessments in regions of histologically benign tissue and identify the earliest detectable signs of cancer.
